Thank you to those who came to SMMS on February 5th for the fourth annual Family
Trivia Night sponsored by R.E.E.F.! Over 100 people attended the fun night.
There were eight categories of questions that ranged across all age groups. Door
prizes were given out and a silent auction was held. Congratulations to the
Kerch Family, who came in first place and won t-shirts, a trophy and gift cards.
The Stephen Mack Middle School team won second place and each received a medal
and gift cards. Proceeds from this event will go towards educational grants that
are awarded to teachers in the Rockton School District. R.E.E.F. would like to
thank the many sponsors whose generosity provided the door prizes and silent
auction baskets. Look for the next R.E.E.F. Family Trivia Night to be scheduled
next year!

February 6, 2010
The
Rockton Elementary Education Foundation (REEF) hosted a Family Trivia Night
for adults and students in grades 5 or higher on Saturday, February 6th
at the Stephen Mack Middle School Gymnasium in Rockton, IL. The proceeds from
this event will help fund grants awarded each year to teachers in the Rockton
School District for educational opportunities and programs that go beyond the
normal school curriculum and cannot be offered through normal school revenues.
Prizes were awarded for 1st and 2nd place teams.
Door prizes were awarded at the end of each question round and a silent auction
was featured.

What is REEF?
The
Rockton Elementary Foundation is a not-for-profit organization established in
1992 by a group of private citizens interested in providing means to enrich and
enhance the educational programs and opportunities for all children in the
Rockton School District.
The
Foundation has established an Endowment Fund which solicits donations from a
variety of sources including the community-at-large, businesses, corporations,
civic groups and other foundations.
Through
this program, the Foundation is able to select educational opportunities that go
beyond the normal school curriculum to provide a “margin of excellence” for our
students. These extraordinary programs and activities surpass what can be
offered through normal school revenues.
The
foundation is an IRS 501 (c) (3) tax exempt organization.
